“What you do” by Chrisette Michelle is the song that popped into my head when I heard about that too late “Apology“.

On July 8, 2010, LeBron James “decided to take his talents to South Beach”. At that time, Clevelanders were furious! We despised him. He was our chance, and he ditched us.

What happened?

I’m not encouraging that we hold a grudge; I’m not saying that we should hate him… I don’t hate him – but what I don’t understand is how we root for him. Why we still make songs for him.
A year later, the Miami Heat are where we were cheated from going.

A year later, shots are being made that were “missed” for us.
A year later, we get… An apology???
An apology would not have been needed had we gotten an appropriate departure.

On December 10, 2010, “he” returned to the very city that he jilted and continued where he’d left off with some of the staff, colleagues and former teammates – the same teammates that were not good enough just 5 months earlier. On that very day, it seems that the Miami Heat found their rhythm. He is a great basketball player and maybe I AM still scorn, but I lost ALL respect for him as a man on that day.
It’s NOT just basketball. It’s CLEVELAND basketball!
